The2FunAdGuyz offer a new, high quality reproduction print of an 1894 advertising poster for the Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton Railroad (CH&D). While it primarily advertises the CH&D, it also promotes several other major businesses of era, most located in Cincinnati. First, it also promotes the Pullman Co., since it features a scene in the interior of a Pullman Dining Car. It shows two gentlemen seated in the dining car with a large window showing the plant of the Mosler Safe Co. An African-American waiter serves their food, drinks and Peeble’s Perfectos cigars. The waiter holds a bottle of Cabinet whiskey. The man on the left holds a bottle of “Aurora Export Beer” brewed by the Crescent Brewing Co. A gun case in the overhead bin bears the label “Wing Shot” Oriental Powder Mills, R. S. Waddell, Genl. Agt., Cincinnati. Finally, below the seat on the left there is a crumpled copy of “The Cincinnati Times-Star” newspaper. However, the newspaper is actually an ad for The Cook Carriage Co., Cincinnati. Whether CH&D produced it with the other advertisers or this was a case of local boosterism, it is an excellent example of American industry of the late 19th century.AVAILABILITY: In Stock! – Ships Within 1 Business Day of cleared payment.
