AUSTRALIAN WORLD WAR I NURSE POSTER RED CROSS WWI WW1

Product Description
The2FunAdGuyz offer a dramatic new print of a World War I era Australian recruitment poster by Henry David Souter. Recruitment of nursing volunteers was the goal of this poster.
The title simply reads: “Help.” A young Red Cross Nurse is shown with her arms outstretched in front of a giant Red Cross. The woman stands on the sand of a beach. Behind her are a group of tents with a Red Cross flag flying. A Red Cross ambulance is on the left while a Red Cross Ship is on the water.
Henry David Souter (1862-1935) did the original artwork for this poster. Souter was born in Scotland but moved to Australia where he worked for The Bulletin. Souter was a popular Art Nouveau artist who among other subjects is especially remembered for his works featuring cats.
William Brooks & Co., Lithographers, Sydney, did the original lithograph, on which this print is based.
