DR ROBACKS PATENT MEDICINE LABEL POSTER NUDE

Product Description
The2FunAdGuyz offer a new print of a label poster for Dr. Roback’s Unrivaled Stomach Bitters. It is a tremendous period piece of brand advertising. The company was based in Cincinnati, Ohio and the date of its copyright file is 1866, just shortly after the civil war. The advertisement features a classic nude painting of a woman. The woman has a menacing bird, presumably representing an upset stomach. The woman is holding a champagne glass of bitters in her right hand and a bottle of Dr Roback’s in her left hand. The ribbon below contains the words: “Prince, Walton & Co.” with these words below it: “Successors to C. W. Roback.” On the lower left side is a small illustration of a building. The lower right side has a small illustration of stacks of casks in front of cases with bottles on top of it. The caption in the bottom center reads: Sole Proprietors, Nos. 56, 58, 60 & 62 East 3rd St., Cincinnati.
You should note that the focus of this label is slightly soft.
A must-have for collectors of early styles of brand advertising and patent medicine.
