MAGIC POSTER KELLAR MAGICIAN CASSADAGA PROPAGANDA

Product Description
Up for sale is a new print of a magnificent magic poster for Harry Kellar, among the greatest magicians of all time. Like many of the magic posters of the era, this poster features a dramatization of a specific trick that would be performed during the show. “The Cassadaga Propaganda” is the trick featured. Spiritualism was the type of trick featured. A séance cabinet featured a cloth or handkerchief that would represent and give form to the visiting spirit. Inside the cabinet were bells that rang, tambourines that jangled and a slate on which magical and mysterious words and symbols would appear. The cloth, under the direction of the magician, would knot itself and then move around the stage as it imparted information from “beyond.”
Harry Kellar (1849-1922) was one of a few magicians who helped establish the field of magic. While he was not as physically adept as some magicians, Kellar was a meticulous and practiced magician.
We have multiple Kellar posters available in our store.
