The2FunAdGuyz offer a new print of a World War II nurse recruitment poster done by famed illustrator Jon Whitcomb in 1945.

Whitcomb was well known for his drawings of attractive young women when he produced this poster to recruit cadet nurses for the U. S. Public Health Service in 1945. Two attractive women dominate the poster. The one on the left wears a dress blue street uniform while the nurse on the right wears a work uniform. Both of their uniforms include the cadet nurse insignia.

ARTIST: Jon Whitcomb (1906-1988) was a well-known magazine illustrator. At the time he did this poster he was serving in the United States Navy where he had served as a combat artist. His specialty was portraits of beautiful women for magazines like Good Housekeeping, Colliers and Good Housekeeping. Mr. Whitcomb’s later work also appeared in Playboy. He was a founding member of the Famous Artist School, a correspondence course for artists.
